ROBIN LI is a Chinese entrepreneur who before becoming the worldwide known business tycoon, started his journey in 1994, by joining IDD Information Services, a New Jersey division of Dow Jones and Company, where he helped developing software for the online edition of the Wall Street Journal. He worked for IDD from 1994 to 1997, while working there he developed the RankDex site-scoring algorithm for search engines page ranking.

RISE OF BAIDU 

After spending many years in the US, Robin came back to China and applied the same algorithm RankDex for his startup. Baidu was founded in the year 2000 in Beijing, China., Robin Li hated larry page Sergey Brin because of the similarity of the search concept, according to Robin which was patented by him far before than anyone else. Many times Robin alleged google for using his technique and algorithm skills for google search engine.

GROWTH RATE OF BAIDU

Ups and downs are the part of life and the same law applies to Baidu. After years of developing the Baidu many IT giants like yahoo, google etc approached Baidu but Robin denied all their request but main officials of Baidu were in the keen favor of selling the company, somehow Robin convinced all of them and suggest IPO at NASDAQ.

The company listed on NASDAQ on August 5, 2005, and after few hours of its registration company’s stock price hiked from $27 to $122 which was a remarkable success. The company’s share prices raised by 350 percent.
